This was the first fandom for which I ever saw guro. I wasn't even looking for it--I was trying to track down the source of a more conventional rule 34 pic, and I traced it to some artist's site. Right there on the main page, there was a comic showing April captured and tied up by Shredder, and then Shredder took his claws and OH DEAR GOD BACK BUTTON BACK BUTTON!

I dunno, OP. The TMNT fandom is something else, but it's tame compared to the likes of Supernatural, Sherlock, Homestuck, Sonic the Hedgehog, and My Little Pony, imo.

Thief fandom is pretty scary too. Not so much for the fanworks, but for... well, posts like this one:

Finally, in my years here I have never wasted a single post trying to reach another internet personality on a level intended to change that personas point of view, especially using insults. My posts, up until this one, have been carefully crafted troves of hints and clues, and each and every time lately you make some silly response meant to "level yourself up" in the forum. Jason was right when he said that most of us shadowy hardcores have no problem simply fading into the background in light of these modern game design choices. Unlike most, I like puzzling the uneducated gamers, such as yourself, and as I have said peviously, Im soooooo sorry. You are free to go now."

Yeah, if the OP thinks incest, interspecies, underage (via the Nickelodeon series), and overall furry/anthro qualities of TMNT's fandom are "fucked up", they haven't taken one look at the Supernatural section on AO3. Heh heh.

I'm curious--how does Sherlock get on that list? Homestuck has trolls, whose bizarre romantic relationships cause all sorts of flamewars whether or not people try to convert them into more conventional human-style relationships. Supernatural has incest and some potential for furries (werewolves), and last two are solidly furry. Does Benedict Cumberbatch just naturally attract crazy people?

I find it adorable that the worst thing you came up for SPN is "incest and potential for furries." You poor, innocent being.

Also, depending on what squicks you Sherlock has MPreg, Omegaverse (actually quite a lot), and werewolves as well.

What exactly are you thinking of for SPN that's worse? Are you referring to the tinhats who insist the actors are gay for each other?

As for Sherlock having all that stuff, I'm surprised. It doesn't seem to fit the setting any better than it would for, say, Downton Abbey.

I will never recover from the trauma of learning that people write RPF smut about Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and their dogs. RPF is bad enough, but to bring in their real life dogs, too... That shit makes me wish there was a hell. If I were one of those guys, and I found out that this was happening... I would quit acting, move to Montana, go off the grid, and start a mail bombing enterprise, or something.

Could you elaborate? I've only been in the Sherlock fandom for a few weeks now and everything seems pretty nice. There are occasional fights with Elementary fans, but it all seems pretty tame. Everyone who's like, omg, the Sherlock fans are exploding, I'm like, um, they posted a funny picture. Not seeing any "exploding."

As for insane, the Tokio Hotel fandom wins, hands down.

Their overwhelming need to declare war on anything they view as threatening to their show. I know they despise Downton Abbey for receiving an award and Elementary for existing. There may be more, but I'm not in the Sherlock fandom myself, so I only hear about them if they attack my favourites.

Besides all the constant infighting in the fandom with all of the fans of the different eras of TMNT acting like they're the definitive TMNT (you mostly see this with the Mirage or the 2003 fans, but 1987 fans also do this too) and the inevitable furries, TMNT fandom isn't even a blip on the fucked up radar.

I mean, Sonic and My Little Pony. TMNT can't top that no matter how much turtlecest the fans write.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Every fandom has some messed up stuff in it if you look really hard, and I am positive TMNT is no exception, but the only major issue I see from time to time is everyone yelling "NOT MUH TURTLES" at every other iteration but their favorite, lmao.

Until TMNTGs on /co/ get their own Thread Simulator ala MLP and Homestuck, I'm just going to presume the OP isn't into incest (I'm not either, but ehh... YKINMK and all that).
