I'm an American, I'm over being a flag-waver, but I like it enough here. I've thought of moving to Canada, however -- like, Vancouver most likely. Only thing stopping me is they don't have a comprehensive disabilities protection law like the US does.

Not to discourage you (aside from the lack of the law you mentioned), Vancouver's pretty overrated and expensive to live in.

+1

Large Canadian cities suuuuuuuck. The smaller places are where it's at.

I like some of them, but maybe that's just because I'm usually visiting. I used to live in Calgary but the main thing that keeps me from living there again is the cold - I'm not used to it anymore.

I've been to Toronto, wouldn't live there. Montreal? Maybe. Winnipeg and the SK cities, yeah no thanks.

tl;dr really I'll just stick to Victoria.

LOL Not Canadian but a friend is, and she's in Winnipeg right now. She was born and raised in Vancouver, and says she hates Winnipeg and misses Van. Insightful to see other people say differently.

It's really all personal preference i guess. I wouldn't live in Winnipeg either (too cold!), though. Haha.

What about Toronto?

Can't log in right now - I've only visited Toronto, but from what I hear it suffers from a lot of the problems Vancouver does. It's expensive, and with big cities there's always so much more travel involved to get anywhere. HOWEVER - if you don't drive both have great transit systems IMO.

Toronto's colder (a lot more snow) whereas you'll just get buckets of rain on the west coast. One big thing Vancouver has is all the nature - you're literally right in between beaches and ski resorts.

Any particular reason? I'm trying to get into the film/tv production biz, and once I get more experience I was thinking of looking into companies around Vancouver, because their media production scene is pretty good right now.

Can't log in here: admittedly it's more of a personal thing on my part. Film/TV here is solid and has been for years, so you should be fine if you're looking into companies here, really.

(dont get me wrong, there's lots to love. I'm just really, really over Van myself.)
