Aww honey, Germany is awesome though! And you are great at Eurovision*! You can be proud of that? I loved the song you won with a couple of years ago! And you along with the rest of the EU won the Nobel Peace prize :)

*I might or might not have an unhealthy obsession with Eurovision, which someone helpfully reminded me lately that is a total gay stereotype when I said that I don't especially fit into any LGBT stereotypes.

Anyone who says that they don't like Eurovision is a liar. It's silly, camp, over-the-top and fucking glorious.

Eurovision is the greatest thing in the world. 'Cause we had two world wars that devastated the continent, so now instead of that we express our national rivalries by having a massive gay party followed by a completely unrelated phone-in where everybody votes for their favourite country. Perfect.

(Since I moved to the UK I've discovered the Brits are less into it. This might be down to the fact that they could send Bowie to perform a song written by Lou Reed and accompanied by the LSO and they still wouldn't get any points.)

Don't forget all the politics, and that half the points each country gets are from judges and that most countries vote on their neighbours, just because. I still haven't forgiven the Swedes for last years votes!

(That is oddly true, Norwegians really go all out on Eurovision though, we have a lot of auditions in all our counties then we vote then we have some more shows then we vote some more before we finally end up with a finale where we vote some more, you get the point? I do love the Irish though, which after a quick profile stalking I realised you are! So kudos on winning Eurovision 7 times!)

But...but what about the love y'all have when your football team is kicking ass in the Euro/World Cup? The 2006 World Cup was one of my favorite World Cups.

Haha, I didn't mean I don't like Germany - I was joking, because national pride is a touchy topic here. Saying you're proud to be German is usually a nazi thing and sporting our flag wasn't really something you did either before the World Cup 2006.

Which, by the way, was the awesomest World Cup ever and all the other countries should basically go pack their bags and leave it to us because we're kick ass hosts.

Visiting France and Italy during the lead-up to that World Cup was the only time in my life I've ever actually understood excitement about sports. It was so awesome. And go Germany <3

LOL Oh I know that national pride in Germany is a touchy subject but I couldn't help but mention how much I love Germans' attitude towards football.
