Um, the creator is perfectly within his rights to think that people who write fic involving his characters in a sexual manner are creepy. Seriously, why would someone even bring up that kind of thing to him? Maybe his ideas about mental illness are outdated and shows poor judgment, but we've all made false assumptions on things we haven't personally experienced, and it doesn't give you the right to dismiss his distaste over shipping fic involving his characters.

And it's not just fantasizing about his character in this case, it's fantasizing about his character romancing/banging themself. That's several extra layers of weird right there.

da - I've seen a lot of a) the Onceler from the newer movie with the Onceler from the original 70s cartoon, and b) various askblog versions of the Onceler banging each other.
