Hm. Well, the argument about whether or not Stiles has it in him to be a hunter has been done (and I disagree as it goes against everything Stiles is) so I want to focus on something else.

I don't think one can't be both a badass and maternal. I mean, look at Molly Weasley from Harry Potter. She's the epitome of the maternal figure and yet she's not afraid to hurt or kill someone if there's a good cause (self-defense, in battle, defending her loved ones, etc).

I personally like seeing Stiles as a caretaker, but that's not because I like the idea of him baking cookies in a frilly apron or some crap like that. I like him being sarcastic and kind of mean and totally badass because that's who Stiles is, but I don't think it can be denied that he's a caretaker, too. He cares for and takes care of his loved ones (Scott & his Dad, particularly) so I don't think it's much of a stretch for him to increase the number of people in his inner circle and take on a caretaker role. I think it's wholly plausible, actually, because Stiles IS the kind of person who looks out for his, and I don't just mean by monitoring their diets/health and cooking for them. He's definitely the type of person who'd try to ease tensions between people, and who'd be willing to listen to their problems (and sort them out, even if he's an asshole about it), and who'd pretty much do anything to keep them safe, even at the risk of himself.

Stiles can still be Stiles and still be a caretaker. Perhaps not a "pack mother", but I could definitely see him as the pack caretaker. Also: caretaker =/= femininity. JSYK.
