Re: Giving money to strangers

I once gave some teenagers out of gas a $20 because there wasn't anybody else around and I felt bad for them and all I had on me was a $20. (I realize that they could've been lying, and $20 is a bit much, but whatever. I wasn't hurting for money then.)

I'm actually flat fucking broke right now, and there's no telling when I'm not going to be, so hand-outs are pretty much not gonna happen. I've gotten more cynical as I've gotten older, too, and with all the stories of people asking for handouts and just buying beer, if I'm feeling generous enough, I'll give food handouts before cash handouts.
