I think that's the thing that frustrates me most about this show. It was so potential but doesn't seem to do much with it.

Ah well, at least there's probably fic that goes over these things... somewhere.

If I wrote fic that went over those things, it would mostly involve characters constantly interrupting one another and going, "Hey, do you remember that time ________," and calling eachother out on the things they say and promise or said they promised to do (I'm thinking of Deaton especially. I think the writers are just making his thing up as they go along per episode.)

Ahaha~ Yeah. There are too many little things along with the... gaping huge ones.

Deaton being one. He's... he just is now. He just is. I have been trying to fix the inconsistencies with him but so far cannot think of anything that covers it all.

I like to think the inconsistencies are on purpose because Deaton takes joy in being mysterious and random. He has bets with himself on who will call him out on it, if ever.

I so wish that was true but one of them has less to do with Deaton and more to do with people like the Hales, specifically Derek, and how they originally acted around him vs. who we find out he is now.

But for anything that can be dealt with him just lying? That I'm totally willing to believe. Ahaha, it would be great if he just has a betting pool with himself and he has two sides that go to different expenses. He decides what to pay for depending on what side wins each bet.

I like to imagine that Deaton comes from a long line of Werewolf Advisors Supernatural Detectives Too, or like a clan of something. But the Hales were just such drama bombs he told Mama Hale whatever she wanted to hear on her death bed, and he's only just now feeling he should at least try to fulfill them last wishes.


Although I did love how he distracted Scott, and the audience effectively, when he was finally called up on talking about the giant elephant in the room involving being kidnapped by Derek and stuff. That made me laugh. Oh Deaton.

I believe something similar. In all honestly, I'm still constructing him in my head but trying to leave enough room for whatever they throw at us next season which will undoubtedly complicate things.

Ah, I can't wait to see that part. I'm currently going through the second season with a friend. If they really do a lampshade hanging I am going to laugh so hard at that.

The guy who plays him has this little underlying snark thing going on with him, and it's like you can easily miss it or have to double take imo. So with the show getting the approval for twice the number of eps as usual, I'm seriously hoping they can spotlight more of the minor characters, especially him.

oh crud I hope I didn't spoil anything with my futuristic headcanons. How far are you in s2?

Yeeesssss. I hope so. I like his actor. He plays it well even if he has no fucking clue what Deaton is going to pull next.

Oh no, don't worry. I've had THE ENTIRE SHOW spoiled for me before I started watching it by tumblr, my friend, and ao3. If anything is a surprise to my now I will actually be, well, surprised. (Not because of the thing but because I didn't know it.) But I just finished the fourth episode. May do the fifth tonight or tomorrow.

Ahahaha, yes, I remember that after that scene happened I wondered why Erica never showed up again until they left the school. I was like, she may have been knocked out but she's still conscious right? WHATEVER! ONWARDS! Also, I laughed SO FREAKING HARD when Stiles dropped Derek. It was perfect and hilarious.

If anything though, it's interesting to compare fandom's interpretation of events and what really happened.
