Eh, i dunno. My main fandom is Supernatural, and I still read and chat and have discussions with plenty of people on LJ. Plus, there are tons of comms and writing challenges on LJ going strong.

Same with Avengers - i find plenty on LJ. Sure, Tumblr has tones of .gifs and fanart and pictures, but.... Actual talk, actual interaction, is still happening on LJ/DW.

I guess it depends on where you're looking and what fandom you're in, but i think of Tumblr as an annoying accessory.

Then you're very very lucky. I'm a member of a pretty big fandom and, as of now, it's mostly on tumblr. Some of the bigger comms are still limping by on lj but...that's about it.

MTE. The kink meme seems to be thriving, and contrary to what a lot of people here think, it's a pretty cool place (especially if you skim and scroll past posts you don't like). I'm sad that most of fandom has moved to Tumblr, but I'm glad The Avengers still has a presence on LJ.

Are you reading my mind? I lurk on a few character-specific (and character-driven) Tumblrs, but I really don't need that much constant fandom stimulation to be happy.

Heee!
I have sekrit powers.

I love the fanart and the .gifs - i wouldn't see them otherwise - but i don't look at Tumblr except like once a week or so.
