Re: Why is death considered the easy way out?
Unless, like, the person is leaving behind dependents that now have no way of supporting themselves.
Re: Why is death considered the easy way out?
(Anonymous) 2013-03-22 02:56 am (UTC)(link)I find it very sad when people's mental anguish forces them into suicide because I wish they weren't put in that position. I've been there and my dad's been there, and I'm glad we both pulled through, but I know how awful it can get, and the last thing you want to hear is that your solution to your own pain and suffering is "so hard" (emotionally) for other people. Especially because a lot of the time those "other people" haven't seemed to given enough of a crap about the person in pain while they were alive :/ (I might be projecting a little here, but I know a lot of gay and trans* teens get told that their parents would be "so sad" if they died, but often it's the parents that are contributing to the kid's misery. It's horrible to be made to feel guilty about hurting your parents' feelings when they're part of the reason that's driven you to it in the first place.)

(Anonymous) 2013-03-22 03:17 am (UTC)(link)Fucking this. Part of the reason it irks me so much when people go on and and on about how "selfish" it is to commit suicide is because I rarely see those same people doing anything they can to help a suicidal person.
Maybe this is me projecting too but I've only cried for help a million times and at best gotten no help and at worst gotten people be HORRIBLE to me for daring to be suicidal and depressed.
