I adored The Phantom Menace when it first came out, and I still have a fair amount of affection for it - more so than for any of the other Star Wars movies.

I also loved Jar Jar, oops

I don't like it more than the other Star Wars films, but I adore Qui-Gon Jinn and young Obi-Wan and I feel no shame for enjoying it.

Can't agree about Jar Jar, but I also don't hate him like the majority of fandom does.

same here! (except for the Jar Jar bit)

fandom drove me away from liking Star Wars at all by shitting all over TPM when I happened to love it.

That's okay, so did I. I was 11 and I saw the damn thing four times in theaters.
