I like both, honestly, but I seek out fanfiction more than I seek out fanart. I appreciate good fanart, but for shipping I prefer fanfic, if that makes sense.

same here!

fanart is okay no matter subject matter, but I prefer to seek out fanfiction for my preferred characters and pairings (because fanfiction is more of a time commitment and I might as well go for the things that do interest me, whereas a fanart can take, what, 10 minutes to observe, if it's very detailed?)
