Riiiiiight... Tumblr invented this attitude. It never existed on LJ or DW or anywhere else before. Mhmm. Sure.

You really need some new blogs to follow on tumblr if this kind of toxicity is all you're getting. Seriously.

Haha, yes, this. It's funny how people sometimes act like this attitude that's so prevalent on Tumblr is new. I've seen this type of attitude before back on LJ, albeit in personal journals. It's just only more noticeable on Tumblr since opposed to the more 'grouped' nature of LJ (and DW to an extent), it's practically one big echo chamber that EVERYONE can participate in.

tl;dr: The more things change, the more they stay the same.

THANK you. I've been in fandom for more than a decade now and all the shit listed in this secret was already beaten into the ground by the time I first joined. There have always been and probably always will be fans who act like that - it may be annoying as hell but it's really not something unique to tumblr.
