Really. I think you need to navigate tumblr better. I'm not saying nobody shares those opinions, and it's not unique to that site, but all the ships thrive on that site, especially femmeslash. Homestuck, OUaT, MLP, Harry Potter, and every other thing with multiple female characters hello.

The way your secret changes the font colour is really off-putting. I'd recommend using either a contrasting colour, a more transparent background or a stroke around the font.

this has nothing to do with tumblr

please shelve your raging hateboner for the site. none of these attitudes are new and they were certainly not created by, or made worse by tumblr. they have been around for as long as fandom has been around. this shit has been plaguing us since tumblr's creator was but a twinkle in his parents' eyes.

Uhhh, shipping was always like that, those attitudes have been around long before Tumblr. I think Tumblr just makes it more visible, because it's harder to avoid things that you don't like if you follow people who do like them. (Yeah, yeah, Tumblr Savior, but that only works if people actually tag stuff.)

And then on the other end of the spectrum, you've got people who only ship m/f and then complain about why does everyone have to be gay omg they're not gay stop making them all gay.

If I could tell fandom one thing, it'd be to stop giving so much of a shit about what other people ship.

It seriously depends on the fandom. Legend of Korra fandom? One of the BIGGEST ships is Korra/Asami. Lin/Korra is small but fiercely dedicated. For het, you have Korra paired with Mako, Bolin, Iroh, Tarrlok, Amon... Asami paired with Iroh, Bolin, a few tenacious people still clinging to Asami/Mako... Lin/Tenzin, Pema/Tenzin... For m/m, the biggest ones would probably be Bolin/Iroh and Amon/Lieutenant... it's actually a very multishipping-friendly fandom, heh. Some Makorrans can be pretty obnoxious, granted, but that's to be expected from any canon ship, and I definitely want to stress that that does NOT apply to all Makorrans.

...And this is a very tl;dr way to say, it depends on the fandom, heh.

I get what you mean, OP. When I see it in fandom I tend to just roll my eyes and ignore the people doing it as best I can, but it *really* bugs me when I run across that stuff in real life.
