Idgi tumblr is full of angry people and SJWs. I mean even if you're a slasher you're still not safe, lots of misogynist, sexist, heterophobic remarks. Don't forget the "FETISHIZER" plus the "new fandomers" who are grossed out by m/m.

Really, tumblr is just full of asshats

It's not funny. Do you know how hard it is for me to find het fic these days. Like rly hard.

Go to a fucking book store. Go to the fic(tion) section. I guarantee you there will be no shortage of het fic(tion).

I know! And sometimes, people say they don't like my het ships. It's a serious issue gaiz.

Mwha but ya know they do have to pay money for that Het. I get all my stories for free. Fanfiction can be a lovely place for nonHet pairings.

Seriously, some fic is really novel quality good.

Wait.

Het fic exists?!

I thought it was just in legends! From a time long before the great Slash empire. O_O

Yes, it's a word.

Yes, people make up words all the time and sometimes they catch on and become acceptable parts of our vocabulary.

I'd rather this one didn't, because it's horrible.

Yeah, a hilarious one.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-23 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"New fandomers"? Is this whole "slash is grooooooss" thing going to start up again? It's so pre-2000.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-23 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It's pretty common in bigger fandoms. Non-fandomers find out about slash, freak out, write a post about these people being disgusting..Etc.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-23 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
What's a fetishizer?
elephantinegrace: (Default)

[personal profile] elephantinegrace 2013-03-23 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone who ships two males because s/he fetishizes homosexuality would only ship two male characters because they're both hot and would also look hot boinking, as opposed to any sort of actual belief that the characters would go well together, and said someone would also believe that this fetish makes her/him a supporter of gay rights. TL;DR: someone who annoys the crap out of me.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-23 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
If it annoys the crap out of you, you need to use the toilet more.

Seriously, whenever I come across this shitty attitude I just want to vomit. "OMG gay marriage should be legal because then I could hide in the bushes at the weddings and fap to all the hot gays kissing! Uhuhuhu!"

Well, then there's the women who are oh so positive about same-sex relationships as long as they can watch in a three-way fling, but not if it's going to require a major emotional commitment.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-25 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well, now, I sometimes enjoy m/m pairings just because they'd be hot together- but then I do the same with f/f and m/f pairings, too. To me, the signs of fetishization are when one only ships slash and talks disparagingly about het and femme ships, is obsessive about who can top or bottom, etc.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-23 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
This is kinda legit. I think I'm pretty similar to most fanfiction connoisseurs - I will read almost anything if it is WELL-WRITTEN. I won't read poorly-written slash, or het, or femslash. Unfortunately, femslash is SO RARELY well-written, at least in my fandoms. I would LOVE to read some of the same long, drawn-out romances that I've seen in slash fic between two women - hell, I'm a queer woman, I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy it equally if not more! I just don't want it to be EXCLUSIVELY titillation, which has generally been the case in femslash I've read.

But the second I find the idea of two canonically-straight, white cis dudes having sex to be sexy? I'm immediately denounced for fetishizing gay relationships. I'm not saying this doesn't happen - oh LORD have I seen it happen - but this whole generalization-based-on-shipping is bogus. I multi-ship various genders and people of varying sexual orientations. Why would I suddenly be fetishizing anything if I switch to a new fandom?

(Anonymous) 2013-03-23 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Kinda like there's so much reverse racism. World is such a tough place for straight cisgendered white people. :(

You sound American.
