This is kinda legit. I think I'm pretty similar to most fanfiction connoisseurs - I will read almost anything if it is WELL-WRITTEN. I won't read poorly-written slash, or het, or femslash. Unfortunately, femslash is SO RARELY well-written, at least in my fandoms. I would LOVE to read some of the same long, drawn-out romances that I've seen in slash fic between two women - hell, I'm a queer woman, I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy it equally if not more! I just don't want it to be EXCLUSIVELY titillation, which has generally been the case in femslash I've read.

But the second I find the idea of two canonically-straight, white cis dudes having sex to be sexy? I'm immediately denounced for fetishizing gay relationships. I'm not saying this doesn't happen - oh LORD have I seen it happen - but this whole generalization-based-on-shipping is bogus. I multi-ship various genders and people of varying sexual orientations. Why would I suddenly be fetishizing anything if I switch to a new fandom?
