The Expendables.

The Expendables 2.

Sure some people liked it, but in my experience it's been mostly dudes who felt like their masculinity would be undermined if they dared dislike these testosterone filled movies. I know only two women besides myself who liked them. Genuinely liked them.

I'm a woman and I genuinely liked The Expendables 2! The first movie... not so much. I think the second movie did right everything the first got wrong, and was much more entertaining in general.

...and I might have just committed fandom blasphemy by praising a sequel. Oh well.

Add another woman to that list my friend, because my love for those films is strong and true. Plus if you get me drunk I'll wax lyrical about how the title is soooooooooooo deep because all the action stars are past their use-by-date and that it's totally making a statement about age and Hollywood and the mercenary nature of the entertainment business, even though when I'm sober I know a) that's obvious and kind of the point and b) that they've all had successful careers and are all rolling in it and don't need to be advocated for.

Except for Van Damme; I worry about him.

As an added bonus, out of several men and a couple of women I know who have also seen these fabulous movies, I only know one (one!) who enjoyed them. The rest, even the guys, thought they were stupid and boring. :'(
