As a female, you can't relate to someone with a penis?

...

...Okay.

My thoughts exactly. Men aren't an alien species, really. The whole belief that the opposite sex (male or female) is somehow this inscrutable creature just perpetuates sexist attitudes.

I feel like as a female, when I consume media I'm spending the vast majority of the time relating to someone with a penis.

Penis =/= man. Woman =/= no penis.

Is that what you're getting at? 'Cause it was bothering me, but apparently didn't bother anyone else. :/

Okay, yeah, we can say cisman and ciswoman to be PC and all, but, at the end of the day, we all get what the OP is trying to say.

I read it as the OP meaning sexually relating to a guy which is pretty damn normal. I'm the same as the OP. I can't relate to a dude getting hard and getting off on having his prostate touched, so gay butsexors doesn't turn me on. For some straight chicks, it's more about the visuals or they can relate to the emotions felt by the guy??? So they're able to get turned on it. For me, I kinda need someone with the same equipment as me to be present.

They can't relate to them sexually is how I read it. There's no problem there.

I can relate to someone without a penis, but for the purpose of porn, I'm the same as OP. Most people seem to see porn from a voyeuristic perspective, I approach it from a vicarious perspective. So despite being bisexual, depictions of F/F do absolutely nothing for me, as far as turning me on goes. There's got to be a guy that can stand in for me. In porn, not in anything else. I'll relate to a female character in any other respect, just not for smut purposes. It makes being in yaoi and slash fandom even more alienating than it already is being a guy, when you are a vicarious consumer of the content, and everybody else is a voyeuristic consumer.

Um. I thought it was pretty obvious OP was referring to relating to the opposite sex in a physical sense? I mean, how could a woman truly know what a man experiences down there?
