Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)

I AM EXCITED.
Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
The only complaint I have is that there wasn't enough footage of the dwarves or Bilbo, but that will come later and they had the whole first film so I'm just being picky. I JUST LOVE THE DWARVES A LOT.
Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
(Anonymous) 2013-03-24 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)Plus: Thorin and Thranduil sass off.
(DWARVES! The subtitles should be "An Unexpected love for a dozen of dwarves", really)
Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
And we just know this film is the last happy stretch before the next one and its three hours of despair and ugly crying, isn't it?
And considering what goes down in Mirkwood...this won't be all that happy either. At least Beorn's should be fun, right? I want some adorable giggly moments before all the death and destruction.
Plus: Thorin and Thranduil sass off.
Yessssssssss. It's going to be glorious.
(That would be a great way to subtitle the trilogy. Very informative.)
Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
(Anonymous) 2013-03-24 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)Ah yes. I expect much panicking and angst and giant spiders and brothers getting separated. But! Beorn. I'm all for the giggly moments. Give me ALL of the giggly moments before you make me shed enough water to fill a small lake, Peter Jackson!
Thorin and Thranduil... Thranduil, he had to bow to Thrain and to Thorin by association. Now? Now Thorin is half-starved, poor and running towards a suicide mission with old warriors and children. Thranduil is still a king. But one who's seeing his kingdom fall apart and sees him as a threat. So much bad blood between them, I can see the passive-agressive sass off from here. And I do love how Thorin acts like a kid forced to eat Brussels sprouts whenever elves are brought up.

This made me laugh because IT'S SO TRUE. The fandom after the films release is going to be a wreck. Not sure if it'll be miserable or comforting to have so many other people feel our pain.
They're both stubborn asses tbh, but that's what makes it so fun. The mutual hatred they have going on is going to make things very interesting. (And hot. I'm sorry but Thranduil getting all up in Thorin's face...UNF. I don't ship it, but the anger is delicious. And so agreed about Thorin and elves; we're gonna be seeing a lot more of that this film.
Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
(Anonymous) 2013-03-25 12:08 am (UTC)(link)I'm thinking, post-Reichenbach Sherlock fandom, except with more pain, because no one is coming back. Soo... miserable AND comforted? At least we'll be able to pass around tissues.
And yes, UNF. I don't ship it at all, but that tension is delicious. All that majesty in one place, I can taste it and it tastes like rainbows.
Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
Ouch, Sherlock fandom? So basically you won't be able to go anywhere without seeing death scenes and crying faces?... Sounds right up my alley, tbh.
Rainbows and cotton candy!
Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
Also, Lee Pace, you are so damn tall.

Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
It's pretty great.
When I heard he was set to play Thranduil, I was skeptical that he wouldn't have the face for it, but he sells it really well.
Re: Did anyone else watch the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug sneak peek? (spoilers for guests)
True. He's had so few scenes but everyone already enjoys the character. Plus, the new footage is way more interesting than anything we've seen of him yet. I was impressed.
