Well that's the thing isn't it. If you draw the line, shouldn't you stick with it? Why support something that is offensive?

Sure you can consume it without spending money, but don't think that big media isn't watching those numbers as well.

consume without spending money...how?

pirating it?

and if that crosses lines as well?

it's about battles and battlefields and what the individual is willing to do and where they're willing to go to fight it.

and no two people have the lines. stop expecting people to care about the same things you do and if they do? stop expecting them to fight the battle the same way you would.

It is highly difficult to avoid problematic material. I'm a person who won't watch 'Cloud Atlas' as well as anything that has this sort of controversy (I skipped on most of last year's big Oscar films for plenty of SJ reasons and ended up saving myself money, headaches, and guilt). However, the library is always a free, legal place to try films without really giving money.

You've probably already read this, but I'll post it anyway

I've found this pretty useful, because I may try to be selective and consider the flaws in media, but I am still fairly new to this and can admit to enjoying certain properties despite problematic elements. The comments are also worth reading.

Finding things to be offended by in everything you ever consume really doesn't seem like a healthy way to be.
