I saw the movie and no, they are not the first family. It's joked about during the prologue that all of their neighbors keep dying.

People don't wank much unless it's a Disney or Pixar movie. See how the pretty much non-existent outcry over the outright white washing of Toothania paled in comparison to the wank over there being no black people in Brave. And this is a continuous thing for some weird reason.

I was kind of surprised how no one talked about Toothianna much, but I have little qualm with people complaining about that part of Brave. What I love is how the white people who are so used to seeing them and only them in movies like this cry over "historical accuracy!!".

Tell me what part of history did magic actually happen and people turned into bears, because we need to bring that back.

I think the Toothiana thing is so much worse though tbh. You have a canonically non-white character there, after all. Plus RotG was hella white anyway despite taking place in an indisputably very diverse time period (i.e. now). And hella male.

I'm not saying that people can't complain about that re: Brave, but yeah.

What other people said, and also and when the trailer and posters first came out, there was some fuss because it looked like they were trying way too hard to emulate/rip off Brave (with the main character's design and the cliff-climbing scene).

Well, I don't want to see it because of that "AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I LOVE THEM! Where are my feet?" scene. As well as the "we never leave the cave" (what? How do you live?) thing, and the fact that they are absolutely not the 'first family'.

Actually, they're outliers because humans are pack animals. Left to our own devices, our 'natural' group size is roughly 150 individuals, judging by the size of our neocortex relative to the rest of our brains.

Basically, the commercials roamed from just not interesting me to actually offending me, either because of my sex or because of my education.

Don't worry, just wait till "Neanderthal fetish" is a tag.

I don't know what you're hinting at but want to say part of your secret made me realise I am GLAD this is finally out. I have no intention of seeing it really but if that "da da daaaaa" bit from it gets the fuck off the radio at work some time soon I'll be very happy. The station my colleague wants to listen to must play the radio ad every ten minutes. It's driving me up the wall.

still undecided on watching it. the concept and art look nice, but I didn't like the trailer and, well, is the fandom going to be dipshit "THIS IS AMAZING YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT AT THE CINEMA BECAUSE IT'S RECEPTION IS NOT GREAT AND YOU'RE A BAD FAN OF ?3d childrens shows? IF YOU DON'T"


I wanna say that's hyperbole but there was a fucking petition and all and woah way to turn me off paying for a movie

Oh yeah. I saw a little bit of that, but I didn't know there was a petition. The post I saw was like IF YOU WANT MORE ORIGINAL, GROUNDBREAKING, INNOVATIVE CGI FILMS YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS. Which... not even as an insult to the film because it's not a bad thing, I would hardly call the film groundbreaking.

No one really seems to be talking about it, and I'm following a ton of animation fans that freak out over... every big CGI movie. I've literally only seen ONE person mention having seen it.

Although the reviews aren't that great, which hopefully means people will stop treating Chris Sanders as a god among men.

As long as they have some kind of in-universe explanation for why the teenage girl has perfectly shaved legs/armpits. That pissed me off so much in the trailer. Lol we can't have a hairy female character even if she's literally a fucking cavewoman???
