I ship him with Lucrecia, because them being mad scientist lovers is more interesting than her just being a victim who was being used by him. From the flashback, I got the impression that she was genuinely in love with him and that Vincent was just a stalker (all of this has probably been retconned by the compilation though).

Plus, he is Sephiroth's biological dad, so you can pretend he was pretty in his youth. :V

Whatever happened to the fan-theory that Vincent was actually Sephiroth's bio-dad? Cause he and Lucrecia were having an affair and Hojo didn't know about it?

I don't actually like this theory because I like a slimy slimeball being Sephiroth's father. Also it's possible I made it up all by myself.

I only just recently found out about this theory, and honestly, it's my head-canon. It just makes the entire situation so much more deliciously tragic.

I think it largely fell to the wayside because Dirge makes actual sex between Vincent and Lucrecia seem so unlikely.

I still kind of like it though as a what-if. And also I just don't really like Dirge anyway.

Man, I've never played FF really but whenever I see someone talking about Hojo the only association I have with it is that insane story of that girl who got trapped in an abusive house with the weird FF cult and it's just such a cognitive dissonance from the usual context

Just a curious psychology student, how are you using cognitive dissonance here? For as fas as I know it's when you've made a decision (say, bought a car) and later on (when the new models come out) you start to wonder if you've made the right decision. That doesn't seem to match how you're using it though, is there another meaning to it?

Well OP, maybe some people get shivers from him in a good way. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

I read a Hojo fic once. There were cattle prods in it.

I totally ship him with Captain Maiyuri from BLEACH. Because even evil genius creepy scientists need love.

Uuuuuggghhh, I know right. I always figured that he was nicer looking when he was young so Lucrecia could be fooled by him, but the Compilation shat on that like it did everything else.
