I think, "Fuck her." Because that is some condescending utter and total bullshit. I would be so pissed if someone said that to me.

But I might be a bit too close to this kind of situation? See, my mom is a nurse and loves being a nurse. She doesn't ever want to be a doctor. But you wouldn't believe the amount of people who dismiss her because she's not a doctor, tell her she's wasting her time as a nurse, or imply she's lazy for not becoming a doctor. She's used to it now so it just flies over her but it drives me up the wall.

So, yeah, hearing this kind of thing activates my "Stop disrespecting my mama!" reaction.
