I love history but can't imagine "fangirling" anything in it, not in the same way as fiction fandoms! Closest I even come to that is when I was a kid I was part of a family membership to the York branch of the Richard III Society. And I didn't renew my membership as an adult because although I am sympathetic, I wasn't sure how far I could cope with the "he did no wrong ever" view of some members. Now I think about it, it does seem a bit like an upscale fanclub heh.

But eh, I suppose history "fandom" people are only having fun/not being deadly serious?
