LOL at this secret after #9.

I think people watch dramatizations or movies like 300 and fangirl/fanboy over the characters, not the actual people who inspired said characters.

This says nothing good about my James Madison crush at all.

I for one fangirl over a particular historical character. I'm glad he isn't represented in much fiction as I prefer to research his life and the surrounding social situation, and imagine the person he must have been, rather than to read fanfic (though I know there is some). I say I "fangirl" him because I drift off into fantasies, like talking about him as much as possible, and wish I had a few more people to squee over him with. But it's absolutely about the historical character (so far as anything can be known about a person from that long ago), not a fictional representation.
