No, yeah, I thought it was creepy and manipulative as fuck and I watched it through my fingers going, "No Derek stop what are you doing aaahhh."

It really made me uncomfortable. That was the moment when I decided Derek really isn't that good a guy, hahaha.

Oh, I'm kinda glad I'm not alone. I read it like an almost rape scene which seriously freaked me out. It also confused me because Derek has been raped so I was wondering why he would ever act like that. Unless he's so fucked up he doesn't know the difference or something but... fcgvhjbnkfml,;lkjuytrewa

Watch this never be spoken about again on Teen Wolf. No answers.

But yeah, that scene definitely made it hard for to ever look at Derek the same way again.

Derek seems to have really odd views of sexuality & seems to have no problem using his looks/body to get what he wants, but doesn't like it.

I think Tyler Hoechlin has a grasp on this, but i'm not sure 100% the writers do....Who knows if this storyline will ever be properly addressed.

Yeah, I noticed that. Which is why I try to rationalize that scene as him being fucked up.

What makes you think the actor's got it? (I mean, I get the writers sometimes don't...)

I don't have anything in particular off the top of my head, but i'm PRETTY sure that he said something about the scene where he bashes stiles into the steering wheel was meant to be a reaction to the pimping-him-out stuff with danny. It kinda makes sense that he would go along with it, but be grumpy about it. And that scene was improv between tyler and dylan.

But if Derek is getting a love interest early season 3, i just don't really think that the writers have a good grasp on his personality. But who knows, maybe it'll surprise me

Huh, interesting. I guess I'm kind of glad someone there kinda knows what they're doing.

Is he for sure getting a love interest? I thought that was just a rumor.

dunno. I'm trying to avoid spoilers, but tumblr is making it hard. everything i have been hearing is kinda putting me off the show and i'd rather not have that happen

Added to what other Anon said, I also read somewhere that Hoechlin added in scrubbing his mouth off after Erica launched herself at him and kissed him during training. So the writers don't really seem to have a grasp of the character with that angle, but the actor seems to at least have somewhat of an idea.
