I'm tired of being a weirdo. :( rant

I have a lot of opinions that are considered strange/unusual/freakish/whatever by the people I know. Not really surprising since I live in a really traditional town in the Bible Belt & most people I know are pretty old-fashioned. But I don't think the things I think are really THAT unpopular so I'm usually surprised to come here or some other site & once again have people tell me how strange it is. Most of the time I don't think my view is THAT bizarre or unreasonable but out of like 20 comments there'll be 1 or MAYBE 2 people who will agree or at least not think what I'm saying is that damn strange. Everyone else agrees with the people around me who think I'm a freak. I'm sure probably a couple of them are trolls but I'm really tired of it & it makes me sad. :(

I can't give specific advice without knowing what sort of opinions you hold but in my experience this is how things go-

Live in a bible belt with super conservative people and just about anything outside their views is "strange".

But then if you moved to a more liberal/diverse area chances are you still wouldn't have views that would exactly match up, basically because even if you have strange views for your home town, you're still a product of your environment so you would have different experiences then people who grew up outside the bible belt.

This doesn't make you weird, in fact it's something I've seen a lot before. But I understand that it can be very isolating.

For the record though, f!s is not the best place to look for people to agree with you, some days people on here just get in the mood to debate and they'll literally find a way to argue anything.

Maybe figure out why people find them weird? Understanding where the other person is coming from might help. I mean f!s leans much more left than stereotypical Bible Belt town, so it's a bit odd to hear that your opinions aren't received well on two different ends.

If we're talking about political/social opinions then it probably just indicates that your views are fairly middle-of-the-road. You come from a very conservative town and this comm skews strongly liberal.

Yeah its mainly political/social issues. I doubt you'll even see this at this point but that's the weird thing. The criticism both in my town & here are that most of my opinions are too liberal which is what's so frustrating since for the most part most people here are liberal so it's like I just can't win. So either I'm just way too far left or maybe a good amount of them are trolls &/or people just wanting an argument. Who knows but it's definitely annoying.
