It's an alt spelling of Jerry (as far as I know), said Jerry, Jary. I just looked up the meanings for Jerry. It's pretty rare. I prefer Jeri though.

I only guessed because I knew a dude named Yeremiah who said that's what his name meant (The cult I grew up in decided J was an evil letter meant to mar Yahweh's name so they were all replaced with Y's). I think they're both pretty but I tend to prefer when short names for girls end in i myself. :)

Huh, idek what to think about the letter J being evil. That's a new one to me. It's kinda funny (sorry), and I'm sorry about the growing up in a cult thing. :(

The websites I checked said Jerry was a diminutive of Gerald, Jeremiah, Jerome, and Jeremy.

Awww, thanks for thinking that Jary's a pretty spelling; most people tend to think the opposite (it's too guy-ish or something). I saw that spelling for the first time w/Jeri Ryan and loved it. I think it's much prettier, and it doesn't remind me of my dad (not the best relationship).

My first impression of the name Jary was that the owner would be a fun, upbeat, slightly unconventional but still somewhat wholesome girl and/or a dragon hatchling. Take that as you will!

Good on you for taking ownership of your name! I struggled with my first name because of its origins but now I'm fiercely in love with it and can't imagine being called anything else. If it wasn't so rare I'd insist on it being incorporated in all of my usernames and accounts online. :)
