I was thinking of this because someone a few days ago went on a rant about how their housemate showered everyday, and people who replied said it's not that abnormal.

If I work out, I shower, even if I took a shower the day before. I only wash my hair every other day or every three days.

On weeks I get lazy and don't work out, I try to shower every other day. But with my new work schedule...I've taken a shower like...once a week. It's pretty gross. I use a lot of baby wipes, baby powder, scented lotion and body spray to try to keep myself a little clean and not smell of BO. I also wash my hair in the sink every three or four days. Hoping to reorganize my schedule so I don't feel so gross.

I shower every morning and again later in the day on gym days (3 times a week). Most of the year, I wash my hair every other day unless my gym days get moved around and then sometimes I end up washing my hair two days in a row. But in the summer I sweat a lot and my hair gets greasy unless I wash it every day.

I shower every day and I wash my hair every day.

My hair becomes super oily if I don't. (If I didn't wash my hair for a week, I'd probably end up with a matted rat's nest by Friday.) And I feel sticky all over if I go without a shower.

Usually about 3 times a week. It varies widely, basically I shower whenever my hair starts to feel all oily and groady.

I shower almost every day, and wash my hair every other day or every three days. I have very thick hair, it can withstand (and even benefits from) not getting washed all the time.

I shower/wash my hair three times a week or after exercising. My hair doesn't get oily and I live in a place that doesn't get that hot even during summer.

Anyway, there's no right frequency to shower. It depends on how oily your hair and skin get, where you live, how much you normally sweat, how much you exercise etc. Someone might need to shower twice daily, someone else will be fine with one shower a week.

Every day, at least once. Sometimes twice. I also wash my hair once every day.

I shower at most twice a day, usually because I live in the tropics and that you will get sweaty whether you like it or not.

Prepare for incoming flood of comments about how nasty FSgoers are for not showering every hour on the hour. This never ends well. *sigh*

Once a day at least. Twice if I feel gross, which I usually do because the heat in Australia doesn't pipe down for goddamn autumn. Of course, I grew up with water restrictions so I get extraordinary guilt if I'm in for more than ten minutes. >_>

In all seriousness, I'm one of those people who develops a bad smell really quickly, and I hate not feeling clean. My hair gets washed every other day mainly because it takes too long to dry.

I shower (and wash my hair) about 5-6 times a week.

Growing up, I swam, so I'd take showers at least once a day, but usually twice (first one in the morning either at home before school, or in the locker room after morning practice before school, second one in the locker room after afternoon practice). After I stopped swimming (after high school), I really only bothered to shower before work. When I quit my job and went to college, I...pretty much showered every few days or so, if that. I wasn't doing much, and I don't have strong BO, so I didn't really care about being a little grimy. I used deodorant, at least, which is more than some of my classmates could say... The three months I was trying to find another job, though, I was so stressed out and depressed that it took a lot to even get me showering once a week.

I have a job now, though, so I generally stick to showering before my shift, though once or twice a week I'll prefer the 20 extra minutes of sleep over being squeaky clean. Personally, showering every day isn't necessary, but it wakes me up a bit in the morning. And maybe when I can afford better shampoo, it'll help curb my dandruff... My boyfriend takes daily showers (he sweats more than I do and can't stand the grime), but because his hair is really thick and fussy, he only washes it every other day or so.

I think a lot of people have grown up with the idea that daily showers are necessary, and while they're a good idea for some people, not everybody needs them. Some good deodorant and self-awareness can stand in for a full shower every so often (especially in the winter here, because you're under so many thick layers, nobody can really smell you anyway!)

I shower everyday and wash my hair everyday. I have the type of hair that turns into a grease pit within a day so I don't really have a choice unless I want to look like I never bathe.

everyday. this city's too damn hot most of the year to justify NOT showering every day
that and i sweat like a damn pig, so

I shower every night. I shampoo my hair every other day or so, but condition every time I shower, to try and keep it under control.

Every day and I wash my hair at least every other day. I love showering though. XD

Almost every day. I skipped it today and I feel disgusting.

We seem to get this question a lot.

I only bathe about 3 times a week unless it's really hot or I'm working out or there is something causing me to sweat every day. If I don't shower I'll at least wash my armpits and between my legs in the morning, which takes hardly any time at all.

Recently since I've been riding the bus and walking home with a sweater and coat on in 70-75 degree weather (cause it's below freezing in the mornings), I have to bathe daily, but I don't wash my hair every day. One of the main reasons I don't shower daily (besides that it's wasteful, as far as water goes) is that it's bad for my hair to wash it daily, since it's so thick and curly. Also considering all the work that goes into getting it straight or at least not where it's a tangled mess, I don't want to wash it and start all over again every single day.

I shower every other day for the most part, with the exception that I also shower after a workout or after I work up a sweat. I try to schedule my workouts so they line up with my showers so I can kill two birds with one stone.

I shower every night that I don't wash my hair. When I wash my hair I take a bath (I hate standing that long).
Usually I take a bath/wash my hair on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and shower the other days.

I shower every day, and wash my hair during every shower.I just have super oily hair. In fact, I pretty much have to shower in the mornings, because if I shower at night, my hair will already be oily again by midday the next day. I'm just a greasy fucker, I guess.

Living near the equator, you could sit in your room all day and you'd still get sweaty and smelly by the end of it. Longest I've been without a shower is two, maybe three days when I was really sick? I try to shower every day. I wash my hair every day too, and I'm really fussy about it.

Right now, about three times a week. My hair/skin aren't oily at all and I hardly ever sweat so there's really no need to do it more often than that in the winter. In the summer it's more like every day since it gets really hot and humid here and I feel gross if I skip it.

I shower every other day at minimum, usually more often that that. If I don't shower before bed it's hard to sleep.
