It's Wesley Crusher-itis. Sometimes they defer to him a little bit too much. I don't get why the adults are so accommodating. For example, the running off into the woods with god damn dynamite? They didn't even yell at him for doing something so dangerously stupid, much less punish him.

This. It's pretty annoying that the only person who's ever even tried to discipline the kid - who's committed credit card theft, blackmailed people, and, oh yeah, fucked around with explosives - is one of the show's main villains. Everyone else seems to shrug it off when he does something stupid, dangerous, or illegal, which implies that the shit he's pulling is okay.

He'd be a lot more tolerable if he faced something approaching reasonable consequences.
