Well, he's not the ugliest I've ever seen, but he's pretty high on that list. He's got a fab voice, and I generally like his acting, but I really don't get the appeal of his looks at all.

Don't get worked up about people finding different people attractive than you do, OP! What's the point in getting all defensive about it? Everyone has different tastes. You probably find someone ugly who I think is gorgeous, but I wouldn't give a fuck if I saw you slagging them off for their looks. If someone's going around attacking people for liking someone, that's not cool, but who fucking cares if all people are doing is expressing their opinion.
