I am a 'ship and let ship' type. I probably would've loved Makorra if it was shown as a complicated thing, tangled up in the relationships with Asami and Bolin. The cop-out they used instead made me dislike it greatly, and unless they do a lot of salvaging in Book 2, it's probably going to stay that way. (That said, the writers usually have a pretty decent track record with these sorts of things - and at the very least, it showed Tenzin, Lin, and Pema's relationship as messy and complicated, without infantilizing any of them - so I'm still holding out hope.)
