Not agreeing or disagreeing, but just saying, I can't take anything seriously that uses the phrase, "a slap in the face to [group]," because I can only hear it in some snobbish SJW-esque tone.

The hero was male and the villains were female. Two of the women fell in love with the hero.

Also the character that they made the hero was originally written as a good guy, then it was retconned that he was a baby-killing usurper, then that part was retconned out before more than a handful of the people currently alive were even born

Also the movie was pretty bad.

I take it you were offended that they made the Wicked Witch a hero in Wicked right?

Nope

1) I've neither read the book nor seen the musical
2) Defying Gravity came on my Pandora feed once, and it was awesome
3) It takes more than just the existence of a fictional work that portrays characters differently from another fictional work to offend me. Now, the people who are upset about the Oz books and movies that don't treat Wicked as canon for doing so that offend me, and even then only slightly.

Well, because if you look at number 3 of the post you replied to, you'd see that I draw a distinction between headcanon/fanon/ignoring canon when it's used to create something and using that to criticize people who create other things.

In 1904, Baum wrote a book in which it was revealed that the Wizard kidnapped Ozma and gave her to a witch.

In 1907, Baum retconned the Wizard out of the kidnapping

In 1908, Baum retconned the Wizard out of the usurping of the kingdom from its rightful king, and even established him as a good man whom Ozma trusted and liked.

In 2012, people complained about the Wizard being portrayed as a hero in a movie, citing facts from 1904 but ignoring facts from 1907 and 1908. These people are hypocrites and just plain wrong. That's my problem.

Agreed with your general post - and also was interested to hear about the retconning. I'd read some of the Oz books when I was a kid (about 100 years ago), but somehow wasn't familiar with any of that history.

As for the people complaining - they just like to complain. Maybe they get points when they rile other people up, I don't know, but every month of every year, someone will find something "problematic" to "judge you so hard" about. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's just tiresome.
