Do you have that one character in your fandom that got killed off, or is a one-hit wonder, or got put onto a bus who just happens to be the fandom darling and everyone wants them back? Do you want to see that character again, and why or why not?

For SPN fandom it's Gabriel. And, yes, I want him back. His backstory is too rich to be left untold.

I just posted almost this exact thing.

Gabriel. I'd love for them to bring him back. I mean they keep bringing everyone ELSE the fuck back.

It's funny because I posted this just to say that I don't want Gabriel back! I'm just so paranoid that the writers will do it wrong (like how they brought Meg back, only to cheaply kill her off again). Or that they'll fanservice Sam/Gabriel (Dean/Castiel subtext has been pretty heavy this season). Or they'll bring him back in some way that will cheapen how he got killed by Lucifer in Hammer of the Gods. Or that Dean and Sam will react wrongly - there are just so many ways it could go wrong! And I think Gabriel's episodes are already pretty good. Much as I love him ... no.

Does Fred from Harry Potter count? I mean, the series is over but I think that's one of the deaths that a lot of people couldn't get over

Oh God, I don't think I could ever get over Fred dying. That was so unnecessary! I know it's realistic that people die in war and JKR needed the drama and everything, but ... why Fred? Even my normally stoic secondary school English teacher could be made to rant if you mention Fred's death.

I was always bothered by the fact that when she had to kill someone off, she killed off one of Weasley twins. It just came across as disposing a character because, well, someone had to die.

Fred did not die. That was all some strange fanon hallucination. I refuse to believe it. In the book I read, Fred did not die. See? Yeah, it's all hand-written style font over some strange black characters, but that was how the publisher printed it, as a sort of gimmick.

Lucciola from Last Exile, he got killed off. He wasn't one of my faves, but I wouldn't mind him coming back some how if it were possible. I would really love to see Alex Row come back too, but he's not as popular in the fandom for that option.

I can't think of any that haven't already been brought back, but I CAN think of a fandom darling that got brought back and I still wish it hadn't happened.

Zax from FF7. I LOVED pre-CC fanon Zax. I loved the fanon hard-ass, cynical, ruthless, competent SOLDIER. I love CC!Zack too, but I just don't think he's even half as interesting as the guy that so many great authors made up, and I honestly don't think he fits into FF7 canon all that well either.

I want Charlie, the genius, lesbian, computer hacker/programmer back on SPN. There's only been 2 eps w/her so far, but she's just so damn awesome. She even had a makeout scene w/a genuine girl fairy/fae. She LARPs. Dean had to coach her on how to flirt w/a man (extremely funny). I think the writers went way above their usual craptastic quality to write her episodes, so the eps themselves were just more enjoyable. Actually, I'd love for her to have her own awesome show.

I don't want her back but that's only because I don't want them to have the chance to kill her off for no reason

I want Aurora and Mulan from OUAT back, but it'll probably never happen. IIRC, the actresses have already been signed to other projects. Dangnambitall.

heh. Don't be so sure. At least so far as the finale is concerned, unless the cast is trolling...(there's a picture.)

It won't happen at this point because the canon is finished, but Kal'Reegar from Mass Effect 2. I (and many other fans it seems) loved him in the one mission you ever saw him on, and him getting an offscreen death (that you only find out via email) was irksome.

....Plus I wanted Tali to get with him. XD

Agent Fucking Coulson.

Yes, I do want him back, but the sheer force with which people latched onto the HE'S NOT DEAD LALALA bandwagon still really surprised me. I blame Clark Gregg for being likable, honestly, and also Clint/Coulson on a lesser level.

(He was a pretty awesome character though, okay.)

Fucking Stabler. At this point I don't want him back, because I've seen what the current writing team has done to all the other fan-favorite characters who've come back. He'd either go to jail or fuck Benson, and while the latter has some intriguing possibilities, I strongly feel that it's something best left to fanfiction.

Boromir.

I know, I know, I know. He's the Scrappy of the canon and he's never mentioned again in any of the other materials, but he's my complete favourite and I want him back. /claws at face

Canon is over (well, as long as David Productions sticks to manga canon, which they will), but this is definitely the Jojo fandom reaction to Caesar's death.

Sadly, he's definitely dead, and we're definitely near the end of this part of the anime adaptation. Which is a shame, as Battle Tendency is one of the best parts of the whole canon, and there's so much more that we could have explored - not just with Caesar (warning for mention of rape on that link), but also hamon/Ripple and the Red Stone's history. Plus, you know, young!Joseph, aka my favorite Jojo. (Jolyne is the most *interesting* Jojo, but Joseph is my favorite, and the young, impulsive, yet honorable Joseph is much more interesting than his older versions later.)

Cass and Stephanie, the Batgirls. I kind of want them back, but I'm really getting sick of how the fans keep complaining about them being missing. I'm basically one more fanart picture of them looking sad and asking to come back to comics away from wanting the characters dead.
