Secrets like this make me nervous. My mom wants to see this movie really bad and I'm going to see it with her. The movie isn't really that bad right?

I never know when to listen or not. I consider myself a feminist but when I listen to critiques of stuff I haven't consumed I can never tell when it's spot on or an overreaction. It makes it hard to figure out if I want to watch/read stuff.

It is mediocre plot and acting wise, but has lots of eye-candy, and is generally entertaining. But it's also pretty forgettable. You can certainly do worse though.

I guess I'm one of the "SJW" feminists who said, "Hey, what gives?" (I swear SJW as a term becomes more meaningless every week) but all I really want is for people to be aware of how important female protagonists were to the Oz series. And how dumb it was for the screenwriter to complain that there are no male protagonists in fairy tales. I don't think that's all that unreasonable.

That doesn't sound too bad then. I've had to sit through boring things before. I just didn't want to be actively pissed off while I watched it.

Honestly, I think your points and feelings are valid. Just not... as rage inducing as the OP makes it out to be.

We enjoyed it enough to see it twice! Go! It's a very pretty movie, and seriously, the plot isn't nearly as bad as people are saying.

Thanks for the input. I'll let my mom know because she was worried too. The Wizard of Oz is her favorite movie and she loves anything to do with it really. So she was really hoping this movie wasn't sucky.

Aggghhhh crap. I'm one of those people who could care less about the pretty and focus solely on character and plot. Oh well, I've made it through worse movies I suppose.

I thought it was mediocre. Visuals were good, but the story was quite forgettable. I don't feel like I wasted my afternoon by going to see it, but I'm not going to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

I found it corny as hell, but in an entertaining way? I was laughing a lot, anyway, and I like things that make me laugh.
