(Anonymous) 2013-03-30 02:37 am (UTC)(link)Casting issues aside (Franco and Kunis were godawful), my biggest problem with this fucking movie was that apparently, the ONLY reason The Wicked Witch becomes the Wicked Witch is because some dude broke her heart. Seriously? She's a massively powerful woman who basically rules the land along side her sister and because one douche bag hit it and quit it, she ends up ugly and crazy and evil. She knows him for a few hours, gets seduced, then starts immediately talking about how they're going to get married. I guess that why we're supposed to think she deserved him running away without a word, and then we're supposed to think she deserved her fate (ugly and alone). And her sister deserved it too, because she wasn't pure and virginal and sweet like Glinda, so her punishment was also 'uglification' and loneliness. But at least pure, sweet, virginal Glinda got 'rewarded' in the end by getting to fuck the douchy con artist coward, right?
UGH this movie. At least Rachel Weisz was awesome.

She's got issues... lots and lots of issues. She clearly wasn't entirely stable when she met him.
