I've never met anyone IRL who was Jewish in more than just name. The same is true for most religions; I have only known people who observe major holidays and their religion just isn't a big part of their daily life. I have met people who are aware of how their religion has shaped their lives, which is always a good thing in my experience, but that is not the same thing.

I dunno, I always thought Passover fell into the category of observing major holidays. I had a number of Jewish friends and classmates growing up because my school was close to the Conservative/Reform joint complex, and they all pretty much observed Passover, even if they didn't go to weekly services or do anything for Shabbat.

Seriously? You never met a Jewish person who had a mezuzah on their door, knew some Hebrew blessings, avoided pork/shellfish/meat and milk combinations, or celebrated the major holidays? This isn't an all or nothing religion, despite the constant media portrayal that way.
