As everyone else is saying, don't read it. Maybe the author happens to like friendship fic of your OTP. Maybe - gasp! - they even prefer it to romance! I mean, come on, if you're so invested in A/B's romance that you can't enjoy their friendship, then read fluff or porn and stay away from those who ship your "rival" OTP.

I think it's a sign you're too invested in fandom if you get so worked up.
