I'm going to be the voice of dissent and say I actually prefer "cum" in sexual contexts. I get why people don't like it, but I like having an alternate spelling for the other meaning. "Come" feels sort of coy and stiff to me. "Cum" feels blunter, but I sort of like it blunt and...out there.

Me too. I like porn writing that isn't so coy and... idk self-conscious/self-censoring? Honestly most of this thread seems to equate sounding classier with good quality but that's such bs.

Good for you: so you and the poster above can enjoy the three letter spelling while getting rid of the rest of us readers who are wimpy enough to prefer 'classier'. But hey, fewer coy and self-conscious people reading your immortal prose, FTW!

Note for anyone who has not been exposed to true, professional pornography: this difference in spelling and philosophy perfectly encapsulates the wide gap between fanfiction, some of it graphically explicit, written for and by a mostly female audience and actual pornography (mainly aimed at men) that some make money out of.
