That depends on just how badly your interest gets soured.

Of course it is. It's not actually the writer's fault that they have a different OTP.
Sometime one can't help the visceral feelings one has. Exactly how one goes about dealing with it however is another thing. Feel suspicious of a writer when one runs into [Other Pairing] is one thing, ranting at the writer as if they did it deliberately is another (unless they admit to doing it deliberately, then it's a totally different issue).
