Yes.

I know the debate is endless, but I used to be part of The Pros fandom, where no warnings were ever given, and most certainly not for slash - I've been told it was an original slash fandom, meaning that het only appeared years after the fact. This was back in the eighties, mind you.

How I regret those more innocent times, even with some occasional horrible surprises which taught me to be a bit wary and be aware that some authors should not be trusted. This was a violent show taking place in a very grim time and place and the fics often reflect that. Basically any Pros fic -especially the best ones- are potentially triggery for all sorts of reasons.

But still better than the current situation where over-warning is worse than no warnings whatsoever: the non-con warning used when simply mentioned in passing without elaboration in a discussion is a perfect example. What, we should avoid even mentioning the word? Or acknowledging that it exists and does happen sometimes?
