Why was it called "The Bells of St. John"? That only came into play in the intro! And it wasn't even about that! /confused

It wasn't bad, but there was nothing compelling about it either. In fact, this whole season has been kind of...dead. Apart from the wonderful character development and UNIT stuff in very thinly-plotted The Power of Three and Strax/Vastra/Jenny and the gorgeous ethereal fairy tale little bits and pieces in the overall lackluster Snowmen, this entire season has been devoid of anything interesting or meaningful. As faily as season 6 was, at least it had a lot of meaning.

I'd be more appreciative of the fact that the Doctor thankfully isn't moping about the Ponds anymore if it didn't seem like he was purposely distracting himself from dealing with his feelings with Clara. *sigh*

For the same reason they named an episode "Let's Kill Hitler."

I'm glad Amy and Rory are gone just so I don't have to hear the Doctor call them 'the Ponds' every single episode. It might have been an amusing joke if it hadn't been used all the time. I think even Moffat finally realized how much some viewers hated it and that is why he ended their run as companions with Amy being forceful about using Williams instead of Pond and then showed her book with the proper author name.

No one hated it except you. The fact that their last name was "Pond" instead of "Williams" was one of the few things that really made me happy about their characters.

And I found the fact that Amy changed her name to "Williams" when the Doctor told her to grow up in The God Complex utterly revolting.

She chose Williams and the Doctor had no respect for her or Rory in regards to that. A lot of people hated it. This came up a lot on forums, twitter, and in the magazine. Good for you that you liked such blatant disrespect and invalidation of other people, but you're very wrong to say only AYRT hated it.

She didn't choose Williams. She was Pond. You could certainly say the Doctor didn't respect Rory's choice to keep HIS name Williams instead of Pond, but Amy never chose "Williams" until the Doctor foisted it on her in The God Complex. It was kind of a huge point in The Big Bang and A Good Man Goes To War, with Amy wanting Melody's name to be Pond, not Williams.

Not a radfem. If she had changed her name to Williams when she got married, that wouldn't be a problem at all. But she didn't. She kept it Pond.

Please, if I'm wrong, tell me where she changed her name to "Williams" in canon before The God Complex and actually indicated she wanted to be referred to in that way.

This was in the Doctor Who magazine, though. And IIRC the Doctor only said it once or twice after that because those episodes were already done.

I didn't hate it but the joke wore thin to the point I didn't want to hear it ever again. Kind of like "Doctor who?" but maybe not quite so badly. Saturday's "Doctor who?" gag felt like it went on forever and I wanted to punch the Doctor in his potato face.

Although "potato face"? Really? I don't see the potato-ness of his face. Or maybe it's because I can only think of Sontarans when you use that descriptor...

But I do miss Tennant's freckly owl-eyed ferret face. And Eccelston's giant-toothed leathery monkey face. And...well, to make a long story short, non-weird-looking Doctors are blasphemy.
