I dunno. A more marshmallowy marshmallow but now flavored? Was seriously not expecting the sugar coating. Blech.

But...you can see the sugar coating when you look at it. It looks like it's covered in sugar.

Also, have you tried a flavored marshmallow? They're pretty nasty. It's not easy to flavor a marshmallow.

I had never seen a peep up close before. *shrugs* I'd only seen them on TV & the internet.

And that was kind of why I was excited to try a peep -- everyone seemed to like them so they must be the *good* flavored marshmallow. Incidentally I think peeps are having some kind of voting campaign for flavored peeps. I think sour apple was a candidate.

This wasn't like the candy corn. I'd never had any warning they were gross.

So....what? Did you just shove a foreign candy into your mouth without assessing it first? Did you not pick it up and feel that it was covered in sugar? That it was squishy, like your standard marshmallow?

Or did you just blindly smash your face into it and eat it with wild abandon?

I'm sorry, but you're kind of a moron if you didn't realize until after it was in your mouth that your expectations weren't congruent with reality.

I never said I didn't realize before I ate it, just that for years I had a different preconception. When I realized I ate it anyways to get a fuller picture of what it was like, hoping for the best. I was disappointed. I also always realized a peep was a marshmallow, not sure where you're getting that I didn't?

I only smash my face into food and eat with wild abandon when presented with a jello cake. But I keep a napkin handy because cool whip itches as it dries.

I grew up with Peeps all my life and personally, I don't like them either. (Like I said in an earlier thread.) They are just spongy batches of chemicals to me.

There's a ton of better marshmallow candy out there.

If you can find one because they are rarer than rare outside west coast US, I recommend Annabelle's Rocky Road Bar. The marshmallow tastes homemade and it is just so good.

Anytime someone mentions candy corn, I am instantly reminded of this bit from Lewis Black:

Sure it is. I made gingerbread marshmallows for Christmas, and it wasn't any harder than making plain marshmallows.
