Is wishing you were a badass game character really considered more nerdy or whatever than waiting for a Hogwarts letter? You might never be one of those characters, but there are all sorts of ways to be a badass IRL. A Hogwarts letter, on the other hand, is never, ever coming.

I think the reason it's considered more nerdy is because Harry Potter is more accepted by the mainstream than RPGs.
