What I never got was the people I know who mocked old 80s pop and disco and stuff... and listened to Japanese music that sounded just like it but in a different language. So I guess it can go both ways, OP, and I don't get it either way. I like or dislike types of music regardless of language. (Though I will admit that a bunch of engrishy lyrics will never fail to make me smile even if I'm not normally into the genre.)

I... may be a bit like that? I don't know about 80s pop and disco since I don't listen to that, but as a whole I do prefer Japanese music to English music. I guess I just personally prefer the sound of Japanese as a language to English as a language. Especially since most English music is American, and I really don't like American accents.
