Although not to the extent as OP, I'm honestly sad I'll never see Garrus again. Or most of the cast, really.... It'll be weird when the next Mass Effect comes out and there isn't Shepard or Wrex or ANY of them. :(

Well, if they go prequel, Wrex is something like 700 years old. Probably not that recent but I can hope a little hope~*~

I'm right there with you, OP. It's really hard for me too. He's my favorite ME character, I romanced him both playthroughs even though I was going to try NOT to my second time around.

He's not my favorite video game character, but he IS one of my favorite BioWare romances and definitely my favorite Mass Effect romance. Considering the amount of time one can spend on the game (I imagine all three games took me around 100 hours without the DLC; shut up, I'm slow) I don't think it's all that odd to grow really attached to the characters.

I'm sad we'll never see him (or any of the others) again, but...at the same time it's probably for the best. They can't do anything else you don't like with him, right? Haha.

Who is this and from what game?

Kaidan, from the Mass Effect series.

He's my favourite game character as well, so I feel you, OP. (Except I would totally do him.) I'll miss him too, and Shepard and all the others.

He was my favorite ME character as well, and it makes sense to get attached to video game characters, because it's you interacting with them. The hardest I can remember crying over media recently was the Walking Dead game because I was so attached.

Random: I just started my second-ish (my real second failed epically, HOW DO I ENGINEER), and finally successfully pursued a Kaidan romance. Last time I hadn't really gotten to know him, but it was sweet enough. Garrus will still be my favourite though. :)

There's just so many romances to still try, but thankfully I've learned which ones to avoid. (Jacob Taylor, anyone?)

I was crazy for Kaidan in ME1, and I legit felt ~hurt~ at Horizon.

I considered giving him another chance in another playthrough even after that, and then the Mars mission happened. Yeah, fuck you too, buddy.

I really don't like Kaidan. Besides being kind of boring, the whole mistrust thing really hurt his character. It made a lot of sense coming from Ashley, and it's still understandable coming from Kaidan, but since the VS basically gets the same story arc, you end up with Ashley's reaction transplanted onto Kaidan.

Also, when I romanced Thane, he said I cheated on him. After the Coup, mind you. Very tactful, Kaidan. Very tactful.

That pissed me off so fucking bad, especially since you couldn't bring up the fact he flat out told you he'd been seeing someone. Iif that letter after Horizon wasn't a "Dear Jane" thing to a T, I'm a goddamn pyjak.

I hope I don't come across as a jerk, since apparently a lot of people adore him, but I honestly want to know what is so special about Kaidan.

I don't hate him, but he's just so...bland. And just kinda there. He's really cookie-cutter both in appearance and personality. Why does everyone love him (especially more than all the other really great ME characters)?

(Is it something that happened in one of the later games? I've only finished ME1, so far.)

Mmmmm, OP, I would fuck him for you.

I'm not sure what other people find so appealing about Kaidan, but I like him because he's quiet, thoughtful, smart, and controlled. He seems like he's had a tough road but he's made the best of it. Sometimes he's a big freaking dork and says the stupidest things but stuff like that makes him seem more real to me.

And I really like the Citadel DLC because while Kaidan infuriated me with his mistrust in ME2, he was kind of right to be suspicious of RaisedFromtheDead!Shepard. Shepard could've been a clone the whole damn time.

ALL the romances were great, though. Damn, I will miss these games.
