Isn't he Canadian, anyway? WTF?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-04 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so sick of these expats from countries where they're ruled trying to tell us how to live here in the US. If I wanted to live in a place where only the criminals were armed, I'd fucking move there. As it sits, I'd like to be just as well-armed as the criminals, please and thank you, and some dude telling me that I don't have the right to defend myself and my family as I see fit--and that I'm "soulless" if I choose to own a firearm--chafes the crap out of me.

Yes, I mad. Fuck him.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
God, stop pretending gun control laws means you can't own a gun and imagine you're going to protect your family with it.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
In some places in the US, gun control is EXACTLY about not being allowed to legally own a gun. Incidentally, those places have the highest violent crime rate in the country.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
States with highest rates of gun violence are states with looser gun laws.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
States with high concealed-carry rates have lower crime rates overall.

And then you have places like Chicago, which is a gun-control haven and sports over 500 murders a year.

Way. To miss. The fucking point.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
His point is stupid.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
So, no matter how long a man lives in the US, if he emigrated from someplace else, then he is not allowed to ever express an opinion on US policy?

Also, why did they allow an emotional, ultra-reactionary, "Everyone Who Disagrees with Me is Evil" person like you to have a gun in the first place? Maybe we do need more restrictions, because shit. You'd probably be like that genius in my area a couple months ago who pulled a rifle on the driver of a snowplow because the plow *gasp* blew snow into his yard.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
He started it by calling me "soulless." I didn't call him "evil." I think he's stupid and misinformed and ignorant, yes. Evil, no. Don't put words in my mouth.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Man, you even sound like one of them. Aggressive and touchy and filled with self-righteous anger.

Oh no, someone with no influence whom you don't know and never will called you a name! Surely you should boil with fury for the rest of your natural born life (and blame the stress on him, because you're too stupid to realize that you're doing it to yourself).

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
I guess I should just go serenely on with a smile and a wave when someone I don't know calls me soulless and wants to take my rights away.

Just like the SJWs go serenely on their way when someone they don't know dares to use the word "bitch" in their presence.

But, yeah, I should not let a brainless knee-jerk has-been celeb get under my skin. You're absolutely correct.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Wait... this person is aggressive and touchy and filled with self-righteous anger for insulting him, but he's not those things when he does it?

Jesus, it was making fun of everyone. He's playing in a band with Abraham Lincoln and Ghandi, for fuck's sake. Learn to take a joke.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
He is certainly not making fun of "everyone." He's accusing people who own guns of being fear-mongers with tiny penises and saying that it takes a "cold dead hand" to pull a trigger. And then he flips gun owners off. He handily ignores the hundreds of thousands of times that guns are used for self-defense every year. I guess those people can just die, as far as he's concerned.

Well, I'm sorry, but I don't have a penis at all, and if someone twice my size with a tiny penis decides he wants to rape me to prove how powerful he is, I want a better alternative than lying back and thinking of England.

Of course, Jim Carrey doesn't have to worry about being raped, because he has armed fucking bodyguards. Well, good for him. We don't all have that luxury.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, you came so far. But you're starting to lose steam, now.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
That was a magnificent leap. Have you taken dance lessons?

He's also making fun of the nutty anti-gun people by making a totally over-the-top song. With Ghandi. But the anti-gun people have a better sense of humor, it would seem.

Psst!

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
(Jim Carrey is an American citzen)

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I think you've done well for yourself here (unless you're actually seriously upset about someone doing something OTT/satirical in a comedy sketch, in which case...go get help).

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
...oh, was that a comedy sketch? It needs more funny, then.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
You mean, needs more people knowing not to bruise your pathetically sensitive ego by making fun of something that you're interested in?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I see. A song wherein someone is depressed, blows their head off with a shotgun, and then their whole family dies is funny now.

I'll remember that next time someone jokes about suicide and someone says "dude, not funny."

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
While I agree with most of what you're saying, I think you have a very warped view of Canadian gun laws. Probably a good 90% of my family own guns, and the gun *registry* pretty much got laughed out of my home region, let alone what would have happened if they tried to take them away. There is a *requirement* that Principals at several of my school zone schools must be able to maintain and fire guns so they can use the one stored in their office to get bears out of the yard before the first busses get there, and again at lunch if necessary.

tl;dr: despite not having the right to bear arms like Americans, Canada is far from the no-gun zone so often represented. Yes, we have our anti-gun activists, but it's because of *them*, not because they're one of *us*.
