tl;dr...
In my childhood I was forced to attend church by my grandmother (who wasn't religious at all until the late 70s after her husband divorced her). Annoying evangelical churches, "non-denominational" but seeped in Pentacosal traditions such as speaking in tongues and shit ugh. I was steeped in that until I was 12 and my mom (both of my parents are atheists) allowed me to stop going. I really hated it and it gave me a bad opinion of Christians but I got over that in high school
In any case, at this point I would consider myself pantheist/pandeist, I believe in a higher power but I think the universe itself is that higher power. I also believe all people of all faiths essentially believe in the same higher power, they just go about it differently. I still find Jewish traditions and philosophy fascinating and agree with a lot of it, so I still sort of want to convert, but if I did I would be a Reconstructionist.
