OP 28
(Anonymous) 2007-09-13 07:36 am (UTC)(link)Firstly, yes, I know that last comment was nasty, but whatever. I was pissed off at the time I wrote that secret. But, while that view may not be shared by most anime fans, it is a view I've come across and it stinks. It could've been worded better, I know that. I still don't regret saying it.
Secondly, I HAVE been submitting secrets. I try and submit two or three secrets for each subs post, if possible. But I do not have an endless supply of secrets, and a lot of my other secrets are NOT fandom related. So I apologise for not being able to flood submissions posts with my secrets.
Thirdly, I'm not going to make a separate community for non-anime secrets. That's taking it a little too far, and frankly, a little too elitist. I'm not that fucking annoyed by it. Just as with the drama surrounding a call for a separate comm for RP secrets, I don't see the point in separating things out into separate secret comms. I feel it defeats the purpose of the comm to split everything up like that. There's not many of us here as it is, splitting us up any further would be horrible.
Fourthly, I stand by everything in my secret, and I still believe I raise a valid point. Sure, I may not have needed that last comment, but it still stands. I would like to encourage the posting of more non-anime secrets! Just post them! It's not like they'll be posted with your name attached to them or anything. A little diversity's good for the soul, no?
Fifth, no I don't care that you think I'm being bitchy and need to go fuck myself. You getting all agro at that last sentence are proving to me why I left anime fandoms behind years ago. Yes, I did used to like anime, but overzealous fucknuts who think anime is absolutely perfect and anything Western is so subpar it's not worth even considering just ruined it for me with their attitudes. So yes, I do have a bit of a grudge, but considering how I could have worded that whole secret, I felt I was being rather polite and reasonable, even if my last sentence was a jibe at some fans in particular.
If you've never come across such an elitist attitude towards anime, and you don't hold that attitude either, good for you. I probably don't hate you.
Here endeth my comments.
Re: OP 28
(Anonymous) 2007-09-13 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)oh yes because Supernatural (Buffy, Due South, X Files, shall I keep going?) is the perfect example of calm and collected fandom and fans.
Re: OP 28
(Anonymous) 2007-09-13 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)I know I'm relieved. Knowing there was someone out there in the fandom universe that might hate me if I act like a entitlement whoring fan because people don't do things my way was keeping me from sleeping at night.
I can rest much easier now. Thank you.
Re: OP 28
(Anonymous) 2007-09-13 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)Congratulations. You've now made it harder for the non-anime fans to get any recognition around here.

...Too damn easy. Not worth my time.
I'm not that fucking annoyed by it.
I'd have an easier time believing that if you didn't bring in the herd of Teel Deers after submitting a secret saying the exact opposite.
