but overzealous fucknuts who think anime is absolutely perfect and anything Western is so subpar it's not worth even considering just ruined it for me with their attitudes.

oh yes because Supernatural (Buffy, Due South, X Files, shall I keep going?) is the perfect example of calm and collected fandom and fans.
