Dylan O'Brien isn't like, drop-dead gorgeous, but I don't find him offensive-looking or anything.

I don't know, finding someone's face annoying seems like a perfectly understandable reason not to watch a show. There's a difference between "I dont' find them attractive" and "their face actively annoys me" - I dont' want to spend an hour or whatever staring at someones face that annoys me.

Not the OP, but looks rarely register with me, so when I have a straight up aversion to someone's face, it's unsettling.

The people it's been true for, at least with me, never really have anything outstandingly different about their faces so it would make some kind of sense. Even I can tell that they're not ugly. It seems utterly random, so I've basically decided it's a chemical sort of thing.

I don't have a problem with looks, but I have yet to watch Elementary because of Jonny Lee Miller's voice. I do love GIFs from the show.

I sometimes wonder if people in live-action tv fandoms ever leave their houses, because every time they complain about a character being "ugly" I've found that the character in question just looks like an ordinary person and not some super-Hollywood plastic Barbie doll.

I've seen a lot of people complain about his face. I don't get it. You know whose face bugs me on that show? Colton Haynes. I skipped a lot of his scenes because I kept wanting to punch him in his dudebro douche face.

Unless his face bugs you because you keep seeing it all over tumblr or any other fandom space you frequent, I don't get it. I don't watch the show and I don't find him particularly attractive or unattractive (I prefer what I've seen of the dads on the show) but he just looks like some random youngish guy to me.

Ia. His face puts me off so much. I'm in the TW fandom but damn Dylan/Stiles's face is weird.

yeah this dude looks like oatmeal to me. so strange that this is the one their fandom apparently chose to die over when I've seen at least 3 much hotter guys attached to that show

Yes. I made a secret about this sometime ago and people didn't believe me. His face is really bothersome.

I think he's gorgeous. And while there are some awesome pics of him, most don't do him justice. Watching him on the show is better. His personality, energy and comedic timing make him even more attractive to me.

I don't see why people keep making this secret. It's been said over and over that he looks a lot better in motion, and it's his personality and comedic timing that attracts people.

Yeah, threads like this always bring up bad memories for me considering I used to be teased horribly for my nose.

And I want to be an actress. Wonderful.

Still don't get it. Unless Dylan O'Brian reminds you of a douchey ex or something.

Besides the way a person looks becomes less and less important the more you watch them. When all you have to go by is a still picture of what they look like, that's all you are going to judge them on. But when you see them act and the kind of stories they are in, then you get all these other balancing ways to appreciate them. So just dismissing a show purely based on the looks of one actor is really painting yourself as someone who really doesn't trust your own ability to get beyond first impressions.

I still don't understand people's obsessions in either direction. To watch something because you think an actor is beautiful? To not watch it because you think they're ugly? I just don't get it.

Honestly though? I don't mind if you think he's ugly, as long as you aren't one of the people who feels the need to tell him... repeatedly. And his fans... repeatedly. That's just rude.

Then again, I feel the super awkward whenever people compliment him/any actors on their looks or make their looks a big deal in an interview or whatever. It hits me as creepy.

I dunno. Maybe I'm weird.

I was sort of "yeah whatev, we have similar features" when I saw a picture, then I got curious and went on youtube, and now I really get it.
Plus if IMDB is to be believed he is 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Italian, 1/8 English and 1/8 Spanish. I am also, well, exactly that. We're also a month apart in age.

Anyway. Get over it. It's a face.
